AMERICAN PI π DAY

American Pi π Day is observed according to the date as to how it is written in America.

The sequence of numbers of the relationship between the radius of a circle and its circumference is called Pi (a Greek Letter).  This fraction is decimalized into a number which has INFINITE numbers after the decimal point.  There are no recurring sequences of numbers.

 Pi = 3.141592653589793238462647............................

 

It was decided to "celebrate" this number sequence by matching it to the numbers

of the date (according to the American way of writing the date).  

So that is how the relationship between the decimal number of Pi relates to the date!!!

 

Date: 3rd Month of March

Day: 14th Day of March

Therefore 3-14

 Pi = 3.14

So this year, 2013, that is as far as the numbers refer to the corresponding date.

(Unless you want to use the 24 hour time sequences)

However, in the year 2015, there are more numbers which match up to the date and time,

taking into account the date and time to fractions of a second.!!!!

A New Year...A New Life Begins.

Solar Eclipse 14th November 2012

A Solar Eclipse occurred on 14th November 2012.

A total eclipse was visible in Queensland in Northern Australia.

In my part of Australia, a partial eclipse was visible.

Here is a photo taken of this event from my area.

BLUE MOON 31st August 2012

A blue-coloured moon is rare. 

Folklore has defined two different types of Blue Moons. 

A Blue Moon can be the second full moon in a month. 

It can be the third of four full moons in a season. 

The full moon of August 31, 2012 will be considered a 

Blue Moon.

It is now Spring time in the Southern Hemisphere

and Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.

On ANZAC day, ceremonies are held in towns and cities across the nation to acknowledge the service of our veterans. In Canberra, the Memorial, in close cooperation with RSL ACT, hosts the Dawn Service and the National ANZAC Day Ceremony.

AUTUMN - SPRING EQUINOX

The equinox occurs twice a year (around 20 March and 22 September), when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the center of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth's equator. On the day of the equinox, the

center of the Sun spends an equal amount of time above and below the horizon at every location on the Earth, night and day being approximatley the same length.

Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival- Mooncake Festival

The Moon Festival
The Chinese Moon Festival is on the 15th of the 8th lunar month. It's also known as the Mid-autumn Festival. Chinese culture is deeply imbedded in traditional festivals. The Moon Festival is one of the most important traditional events for the Chinese.

The Moon Festival is full of legendary stories. Legend says that Chang Er flew to the moon, where she has lived ever since. You might see her dancing on the moon during the Moon Festival. The Moon Festival is also an occasion for family reunions. When the full moon rises, families get together to watch the full moon, eat moon cakes, and sing moon poems.

The moon cake is the food for the Moon Festival. The Chinese eat the moon cake at night with the full moon in the sky.

Hope the Moon Festival brings you happiness.

The number 11 is a Master number. Master numbers are the only exception to rule of reducing to the single digit.
